Description of key information

The Koc has been calculated for all components of 1,2 -Benzenedicarboxylic acid, di-C6 -10 -alkyl esters using the computer program KOCWIN (v2.00). It is predicted that the substance has a Koc within the range of 12770 to 1553000 L/kg (MCI method, log KOC 4.1 to 6.2) and 36830 to 1147000 (Kow method, log Koc 4.6 to 6.1).
In addition, the adsorption coefficient (Koc) on soil and on sewage sludge using high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) was estimated according to OECD 121 and Council Regulation (EC) No. 440/2008, Method C.19 for the test substance 1,2 -benzenedicarboxylic acid, Di-C6 -10 alkyl ester and the structural related substance diisoundecyl phthalate). LogKocs for the various isomers of the C6 to C10 phthalate were found to be in the range of 5.6 - 10.4 (soil) and 6.3 - 12.1 (sludge), whereas the log Koc of the C11 phthalate were found to be in the range of 21 and 23, respectively.
Koc has been calculated for the read-across substance 1,2 -Benzenedicarboxylic acid, di-C8 -10 -alkyl esters using the computer program KOCWIN (v2.00). It is predicted that the substance has a Koc of 256600 L/kg (MCI method, log KOC 5.409) and of 614000 (Kow method, log Koc 5.789).
For all studies and calculations the Koc for both soil and sludge were found be very high, although the values differed significantly.
The McCall classification scheme classifies the substances as immobile in soil (Koc>5000).
