Description of key information

It is considered scientifically unjustified to perform a hydrolysis study for this substance.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Basic Yellow 28 Methylsulfate is produced in aqueous solution. The test substance is then spray-dried under mild conditions, due to its rather low melting point. Basic Yellow 28 Methylsulfate has a sufficiently high solubility in water. The substance is stable at high temperatures. Before the dyeing process starts the substance is dissolved in hot water / acidic acid at about 80 °C to form the dye acetate (dyeing takes place at 96 to 105 °C at pH 3 to 4.5). It is hence considered scientifically unjustified to do an additional study for abiotic degradation of this substance.
