Sublethal observations / clinical signs:

Analytical dose verification was 106.9 %. Water quality parameter like temperature, dissolved oxygen and pH were within acceptable limits. Sublethal effects like gills stuck in a gapping position or swimming behaviour was observed in the 500 g/mL group.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Validity criteria fulfilled:
yes
Conclusions:
Based on the results of this study the 96-hour LC50 of Brachydanio rerio was determined to be higher than 500 mg/L.
Executive summary:

In a 96-h acute toxicity study, Brachydanio rerio were exposed to Methoxyacetic acid at nominal concentrations of 0 (control) and 500 mg a.i./L under static conditions. The 96-h LC50 was higher 500 mg/L, the highest concentration tested. Sublethal effects like uncoordinated swimming were observed in the group exposed to Methoxyacetic acid.
