The substance, tetramethylsilane, CAS 75-76-3; EC No. 200-899-1:
• Is extremely flammable (based on a measured flash point of <-30°C at 1013 hPa and boiling point 27°C at 1013 hPa).
• In contact with water does not emit a flammable gas.
• Is not pyrophoric.

The flammability study is not required for liquids as flammability is assessed on the basis of flash point.
There is no indication on the basis of structure and experience in handling and use, that the substance is pyrophoric (flammable in contact with air) or flammable in contact with water.
Therefore, in accordance with Section 1 of REACH Annex XI, there is no need to conduct further flammability testing

The substance is classified as a Flammable Liquid Category 1 (H224: Extremely flammable liquid and vapour) according to Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008. This is on the basis of a flash point of <-30°C and a boiling point of 27°C at 1013 hPa.
