Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets
Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data
First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Inhalation: Move patient to fresh air. Symptomatic treatment.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse immediately with water for 15 minutes. If irritation
persists seek medical attention.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash immediately with soap and water. Seek medical advice if
irritation or skin reaction persists.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.
Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agent: Suitable extinguishing agents are water, carbon dioxide and
foam.
Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon,
nitrogen and sulfur together with hydrogen chloride and
cyanide gas and phosgene.
Product determined by test: N
Protective equipment: Full protective clothing and a self-contained breathing
apparatus should be worn.
Accidental release measures
Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear suitable protective clothing (see 2.3.1)
Avoid dust formation. Sweep up spill and transfer to
suitable containers. Dispose of by incineration at an
approved facility or at a controlled landfill site in
accordance with local regulations. Wash spill site with
water.
Handling and storage
Handling: Observe the usual precautions for handling organic
chemicals.
Minimise exposure. Latex rubber gloves, safety goggles,
protective clothing and a respirator should be worn when
handling the solid substance. Avoid skin contact.
Storage: Store in closed containers in a cool (below 30 deg C), dark
place.
Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Pack in black polyethylene lined 20kg cardboard drums.

Stability and reactivity
Danger other than fire: None reported.
Chemical reaction with water: None reported.
Dust explosion: Particles are crystalline and not fine dust.
Due to the chemical nature of the substance, the possible
risk of powder explosion should be considered when handling
and transporting BGS93.
Dust explosion determined by test: N
Disposal considerations
Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for recycling is not possible.
Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: None known.
Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: The substance can be disposed of at a controlled landfill
site. (A650)
Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Recommended method, at an authorised facility using high
temperature incineration. Waste gas treatment to remove
oxides of nitrogen and sulfur, hydrogen chloride and
hydrogen cyanide gas and phosgene should be used. (A661)
Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended. If discharge was to occur, precipitation
and flocculation should be used in view of the low water
solubility.
Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will not enter the public domain.
