Surface tension
- Surface tension:
- 72 mN/m
- Temp.:
- 20 °C
- Conc.:
- 1.5 mg/L
- Remarks on result:
- other: a clear solution of 1.5 mg/L concentration of test substance was used for this investigation
Any other information on results incl. tables
The surface tension was consistent measured several times over a four hour period indicating no time dependency.
Applicant's summary and conclusion
- Conclusions:
- The surface tension of the test substance was determined to be 72.0 mN/m,.
- Executive summary:
The surface tension of the test material was determined according to EC A.5 method and OECD test guideline 115. The only deviation was that the solution was not prepared as described in the guideline. Using the ring method, the test substance was determined to have a surface tension of 72.0 mN/m at 20 °C. Therefore, the test substance can be regarded as being a non surface active material (its surface tension is higher than 60 mN/m, under the conditions of the applied method).
