Description of key information

cC6O4 ammonium salt is an organic salt composed of an organic anion and the ammonium cation. Due to the huge water solubility (> 667g/L), ther extremely low volatility (VP(20°C) = 0.000025 Pa, HLC(20°C)= 1.37E-8 Pa m3/mol) and the low tendency to soil and sediment adsorption (Koc = 11 L/kg), if emitted into the environment the substance is expected to distribute mainly to the aquatic compartment where it is anticipated to dissociate into the organic anion and the ammonium cation. At environmental pH the organic component is anticipated to be in ionic form.

On the basis of an hydrolysis study (OECD 111) and of the biodegradability assessment, once into the environment, it is not expected to undergo either biotic or abiotic degradation, and it is not expected to produce degradation products.

On the basis of the low experimental BCF = 2.8 in fish and of the available information in mammals it is not expected to be bioaccumulative neither in aquatic organisms nor in terrestrial organisms.
