Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Eye contact: Rinse thoroughly with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes and
consult a physician.
Skin contact: Wash off with soap and water. Consult physician if necessary.
1. description of first aid measures:
Ingestion: Rinse mouth with plenty of water. Consult a physician.
Inhalation: Take patient to fresh air if necessary. In case of shortness of breath, give oxygen. If breathing is irregular or stopped, administer artificial respiration. Consult a physician.
2. most important symptoms and effects:
In normal conditions of use, no adverse effects are expected.
3. Indication of immediate medical attention and special treatment needed:
General advice: call a physician immediately.

Fire-fighting measures

1. extinguishing media:
Suitable extinguishing media: Dry extinguishing powder, foam, carbon dioxide (CO2), water spray
Extinguishing media which must not be used for safety reasons: not applicable
2. special hazards arising from the substance or mixture:
Special hazards during fire fighting: in case of fire, thermal decomposition with emission of hazardous fumes is possible
Further information: collect contaminated fire extinguishing water separately. This must not be discharged into drains. Keep away from heat.
3. advice for fire-fighters:
Special protective equipment for fire fighters: in the event of fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus. Regular fire intervention clothes.

Accidental release measures

1. personal precaution, protective equipment and emergency procedures:
Cleanup personnel must use appropriate personal protective equipment (see section 8.2 of safety data sheet). Observe normal precautions when handling chemicals.
2. environmental precautions:
Avoid subsoil penetration. Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system. If the product contaminates rivers and lakes or drains inform respective authorities.
3. methods and materials for containment and cleaning up:
Moisten spilled product with water and shovel up. Collect the product in another vessel. Carefully colelct leftovers. Collect spilled product in another vessel and carry off as chemical waste.
4. for waste disposal see section 13 of safety data sheetn, for personal protection see section 8 of safety data sheet

Handling and storage

1. precautions for safe handling:
hygiene measures: observe normal precautions when handling chemicals. Avoid dust formation.
Advice on protection against fire and explosion: this material, like most organic material in powder form is capable of creating a dust explosion.
2. conditions for safe storage:
requirements for storeage areas and containers: no naked lights. no smoking. keep in a dry place. keep container tightly closed.
further information on storage conditions: store in a dry area. keep container in a well-ventilated place.
3. specific end use:
The substance is used only by trained professionals under restricted conditions in almost completely closed systems.

Exposure controls / personal protection

OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE CONTROLS:
1. instructual measures to prevent exposure:
employees should wash their hands and face before eating, drinking, or using tobacco products. keep away from foodstuffs, drinks and tobacco.
2. technical measures to prevent exposure:
ensure adequate ventillation. the subsatnce is used only by trained professionals under restrictted conditions in almost completely closed systems.
3. personal measures to prevent exposure:
3.1. respiratory protection: use dust mask if necessary.
3.2. hand protection: use chemical resistant gloves. in case of prolonged immersion or frequetnly repeated contact use gloves made of the materials: butylrubber (thickness >=0.70mm, breakthrough time >480min). (EN374). The use of protective gloves should conform to the specifications of EC directive 89/686/EC and the resultant standard EN374, for example KCL 898 Butoject (full contact), KCL 890 Vito Ject (splash contact). Additional advice: the data are based on own tests, literature data and information of glove manufacturers or derived from similar substances. because several factors may influence these properties (e.g. temperature), one should take into account the fact that the life of a chemical gloves in practice may be considerably shorter than indicated by the permeation test. the high diversity of types of use are presribed by the manufacturer.
3.3. eye protection: safety glasses
3.4. body protection: wear disposable overalls
3.5. personal protective equipment: employees should wash their hands and face before eating, drinking, or using tobacco products.

ENVIRONMENTAL EXPOSURE CONTROLS:
Effluent regulations/discharge/treatment/contents may vay from one area to another. please consult the local regulations regarding the disposal of this material. do not release into drain. collect for removal by a licensed waste contractor.
European Directiive 2008/60EC (water): not on list
European Directive 1996/62/EC (air): not on list

Stability and reactivity

1. reactivity: reactivity is not to be expected under normal conditions of temperature and pressure.
2. chemical stability: the product is stable under normal conditions of storage and use.
3. possibility of hazardous reactions: hazardous polymerisation does not occur.
4. conditions to avoid: protect from frost, heat and sunlight.
5. materials to avoid: not applicable
6. hazardous decomposition products: toxic and irritating gases/fumes may be given off during burning or thermal decomposition.
Danger other than fire: Probably stable substance. When heated to decomposition
emission of toxic or caustic fumes of NOx possible.

Chemical reaction with water: Not applicable.

Dust explosion: Is possible.

Dust explosion determined by test: N

Disposal considerations

1. waste disposal methods:
do not release into drain. collect for removal by a licensed waste contractor. effluent regulations/discharge/treatment/contents may vary from one area to anothre. please consult the local regulations regarding the disposal of this material.
2. empty containers:
as the packaging can be contaminated with product residus, please observe the warnings of the label even when the container is empty.
For waste resulting from this product, it is recommended to use European Waste Code: 20 01 17 (photochemicals).
