Description of key information
Physico-chemical properties of registered substance were determined from experimental testing, except Vapour pressure, Partition coefficient and Water solubility that were derived in a constituents approach from QSAR estimations on constituents. Some endpoints were waived, based on chemical structure of known constituents or experience in handling and use of the substance.
The substance is light yellow-yellow mobile liquid at ambient temperatureIt is expected to float over water, because of its low relative density (0.9153). The substance contains constituents having different water solubilities and volatilities.
The substance is classified as FLAMMABLE LIQUID, Category 3 based on Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 (CLP regulation) and UN Globally Harmonised System (GHS).
Otherwise, no other hazard was identified with regard to physical properties (explosivity, oxidising properties, self-heating substance) based on Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 (CLP regulation) and UN Globally Harmonised System (GHS).
Additional information
Summary of relevant physico-chemical properties:
Endpoint (method) |
Data |
Appearance (visual observation and freezing point determination) |
Registered substance is a light yellow-yellow mobile organic liquid at ambient temperature and atmospheric pressure. |
Freezing point (OECD 102/EU A1, description of the test item at ambient temperature and atmospheric pressure, pre-test)) |
The freezing point of registered substance is stated as <-20°C |
Boiling point (OECD 103/EU A2, DSC method) |
The corrected values following Sidney-Young equation has been determined to be189.3 °C at 101.3 kPa. |
Relative density (OECD 109/EU A3, oscillating densimeter) |
D20/20 = 0,9153 ± 0,0002. Less dense than water. |
Granulometry (data waiving) |
study scientifically not necessary (not granular powder) |
Vapour pressure (Constituent approach - QSAR estimations on constituents) |
19 major components of the substance (more than 98% of the composition) ranging from 9.24 to 544 Pa (estimated by QSAR). |
Log Kow (Constituent approach - QSAR estimation or peer reviewed literature data on constituents |
19 major components of the substance (covering more than 98% of the composition) are ranging between 2.5 and 6.6 at 25°C (valid QSAR estimations or peer reviewed literature data). |
Water solubility (Constituent approach - valid QSAR estimation or peer reviewed literature data on constituents - mixture approach) |
The apparent water solubility of the major constituents of the substanceat ambient temperature (19 major components covering more than 98% of the composition) has been determined to be between 0.00365 to 387mg/L each at 25°C (calculated based on valid QSAR estimation). |
Surface tension (data waiving) |
Waived based on chemical structure of the known constituents of the substance, not characteristic of true surfactants and considering that it is not the intended use of the substance (i.e. not a desired property). |
Auto-ignition temperature (EU A15) |
The auto-ignition temperature of test item was determined to be 259°Cbetween 974 and 977 hPa |
Flammability Flash-point (EU A9, ISO 3679, rapid equilibrium closed cup method) Flammability air/water (data Waiving) Self-heating substances/mixtures (data waiving) |
The flash point of registered substance was determined to be 54°C at 101.3 kPa with rapid equilibrium closed cup method. Note that the result obtained on this kind of substance should be largely influence by small amounts of volatile constituents and the result doesn't represent the major part of the substance. The substance is classified as FLAMMABLE LIQUID, Category 3 based on Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 (CLP regulation) and UN Globally Harmonised System (GHS). Waived based onexperience in handling and use andchemical structure of known constituents of the substance. NOT flammable if contact with air or water
Waived based on physical state (liquid) NO self-heating substance anticipated. |
Explosive properties (data waiving) |
Waiving based on experience on this type of substance and chemical structure of known constituents. Low potential for explosive properties |
Oxidising properties (data waiving) |
Waiving based on chemical structure of known constituents of the substance. Registered substance is considered to have low potential for oxidizing properties. |
Slight variations are possible with composition (UVCB substance).
