The EC50 (48h) of the test item towards Daphnia was 35 mg/L (nominal concentration).

For this endpoint only one study is available. In this study the acute immobilisation potential of the test item towards Daphnia magna Straus was assessed according to OECD 202.
Over a period of 48 hours 20 test organisms were exposed to a test concentration or a control. The possitive control was potassium dichromate. The nominal tested concentrations were 4.3, 9.4, 20.7, 45.5, 100 mg/L.
The test item was clearly dissolved throughout exposure.The 48 h EC10 and EC50 values with confidence limit (CI) were calculated by probit analysis. The 48 h EC100 value was determined directly from the test results obtained. The quality criteria were fulfilled.
The EC50 (48h) was determined to be 35 mg/L and the EC10 (48h) was 24 mg/L.
The actual test concentrations were not assessed during the OECD 202 study. However, it is clear from the recent OECD 201 (Toxicity to algae) study that the substance is stable. In the latter test the actual concentrations were measured at the beginning and the end of the experiments.
The measured concentrations did not differ more than 20% except for the lowest concentration tested (0.32 mg/L) which is not relevant for the current test. The highest tested dose in both studies was 100 mg/L. This indicates that the substance is stable and even though the concentrations were validated in the OECD 202 study, the results are reliable.
