Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets
Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

A small amount of the test substance, Deophos 228, lntertek Test Substance Reference
1 0568367was transferred into 3 individual vials. The vials were placed into the fridge and
freezers respectively for 24 hours and visually assessed for signs of freezing on removaL
Temperature Sampie Appearance
4°C Viscous moving_ liguid, yellow coloured, i.e. not frozen
-20°C Very viscous liquid, some movement, _y_ellow coloured, i.e. not frozen
-80°C Yellow sticky gelliquid, i.e. not frozen
Applicant's summary and conclusion
- Conclusions:
- The preliminary test indicates a freezing point of <-2ooc for the test substance. Therefore a
full freezing point determination is not required as described in ECHA Guidance R.7.1.2:
Column 2 of REACH Annex VII provides the following specific ru/es for adaptation of the
standard information requirement for melting/freezing point:
'The study does not need to be conducted below a /ower Iimit of- 20oc.'
Therefore, Annex VIItoREACH does not require determination ofthe melting point be/ow a
lower Iimit of -20°C. The lower Iimit should be confirmed through testing, except where a
(Q)SAR indicates a melting point of -50°C or lower
