Description of key information
The calculated vapour pressure is 1.63 * 10-12 Pa. The information is based on read across to the corresponding substance with sodium as cationic part instead of potassium.

Docusate Sodium is a salt. From salts it is known that they have very low vapour pressures making the practical determination of its vapour pressures experimentally very difficult and often not possible.
In the Klimisch 2 key study from Holzschuh (2010) Docusate Sodium starts loosing volatile components at 60°C and decomposes at > 200°C. In the light of the expected low vapour pressure, this made the experimental determination impossible. Therefore, the vapour pressure was calculated using EPIWIN 4.00 with the module MPBPVP (v1.43). The calculated vapour pressure is 1.63 · 10-12Pa (Modified Grain method).
Since Docusate Sodium is a salt, a low value was expected and hence the calculated value of 1.63*10 -12 Pa is considered relevant and reliable for the further risk assessment.
