Description of key information
Appearance

Melting point/freezing point
The freezing point of test chemical was determined as per OECD 102 adopted 27.07.95 using Micro LAB interface FS-524 data generating system and thermostat as temperature detecting system The test was conducted in replicates and mean freezing point was determined to be 12.4°C at 977 hPa.
Boiling point
The boiling point determination of was done as per the test guideline OECD 103. The method followed was according to Siwoloboff. The boiling point of test chemical is 235.3°C at 974.6 hPa.
Density
The density of test chemical was determined following OECD Guideline 109 and according to theIS 4730 : 1994 (Reaffirmed 2010) – Method for Determination of Density of Liquids (First Revision) using glass pyknometer. The mean density of test item was determined to be 0.82 g/cm³ at 20°C and 974.3 hPa.
Particle size distribution
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is marketed or used in a non solid or granular form.
Vapour pressure
based on the data available from the source , the vapour pressure of the test chemical was determined to be 0.041 mmHg which is 5.46 Pa.
Partition coefficient
The estimated logPOW of the test substance was 3.69 at 25 deg c .
Water solubility
The solubility of test chemical in water was determine to be79.86 mg/L at 25°C.
Surface tension
the surface tension of the test chemical was determined to be 27.6 mN/m.

On the basis of physical observation and using the sense of smell, test chemical was observed to be clear , colourless liquid .
Melting point/freezing point
A study was performed to determine the freezing point of test chemical at respective atmospheric pressure . The study was conducted as per OECD 102 adopted 27.07.95 using Micro LAB interface FS-524 data generating system and thermostat as temperature detecting system . The mean freezing point was determined to be 12.4°C at 977 hPa.
In support to the key study , data from handbook indicates the freezing point to be 12.1 deg c. Also , other handbook , authoritative database and secondary source indicates the freezing point to be 12 , 12.2, and between the range of 12 -13 deg c . .
Boiling point
based on the data available from other source ,the boiling point of the test chemical was determined to be 231.5 deg c. Also data from other handbooks , authoritatve database and secondary source indicates boiling point to be 231 deg c , 231 - 232 deg c ,231.5 - 232.5 deg c , all of which are supporting the key result .
Density
A study was performed to determine the density of test chemical in respective atmospheric pressure and temperature conditions.
The study was conducted in accordance with OECD guideline for the Testing of Chemicals no. 109; Density of Liquid and Solids, Adopted: 2 October 2012 and Method adapted from IS 4730:1994 (Reaffirmed 2003) Method for determination of Density of Liquids.
The mean density of test chemical was determined to be 0.82 g/cm3at 20 °C and 974.3 hPa.
In addition to key study , density of the test chemical density was performed according to the ISO 2099 1972 and was determined to be 825 kg/m3 at 20 °C.

Partition coefficient
KOWWIN V1.68 was used to estimate the octanol water partition coefficient of the test substance .
The estimated logPOW of the test substance was 3.69 at 25 deg c .
Water solubility
The study was conducted to determine the solubility of test chemical in ultra-pure water, according to the OECD guideline 105 (Adopted by the Council on 27th July 1995) and OECD 101(Adopted: 12 May 1981). Test was conducted at 25±2 °C in two stages; preliminary testfor 24 h, followed by confirmatory test for 24 h, 48 h and 72 h in replicates. The final water solubility value was calculated based on average of the individual values obtained after 24 h, 48 h and 72 h. The difference between the average values in three vessels was not observed more than 15%. The water solubility value was observed to be79.86 mg/L at 25±2°C.Thus the test chemical is considered to be slightly soluble.
Surface tension
The substance has a surface tension of 27.69 mN/m at 20°C according to the regulation ISO 2099 1972.
Flash point
A study was performed to determine the flash point of test chemical at atmospheric pressure. The study was conducted in accordance with ASTM Designation: D93–15a Standard Test Methods for Flash Point by Pensky-Marten’s Closed Cup Method . The mean flash point of was determined to be 92.6 °C at 974.8 hPa
Auto flammability
The auto ignition temperature of test chemical was investigated according to test method A.15., as described in the annex of EEC-directive No 440/208. The test chemical has an auto-ignition temperature of 255°C.
Flammability
