No adverse effects could be observed at any test species all test species across the trophic level. The lowest test concentration without any adverse effects was derived from a fish early-life stage test. In this test, the NOEC as well as the LOEC were above the highest test concentration of 22 mg/L.

No studies according to guidelines of the current standard are available to assess the toxicity of Acesulfam K to microorganisms. Therefore, results from a non-standard toxicity test on anaerobic gas production, one test on ready biodegradation and one test on inherent biodegradation were used to assess the toxicity to microorganisms on a weight of evidence approach. The lowest concentration without any toxic effects was derived from the test on ready biodegradation where no effects were seen at a concentration of 140 mg/L
