The substance, 1,3,2-Dioxathiolane, 2,2-dioxide, is not considered to be a PBT or vPvB substance.

The substance can be considered to be potentially P.

The substance is not B or vB.

The substance is T.

The parent substance hydrolyses rapidly, with a proposed hydrolysis product being hydroxyethyl sulphate. Initial assessment based on predicted results for ready biodegradation, log Kow and BCF indicate this hydrolysis product would not meet the criteria for persistence or bioaccumulation, so would not be a PBT or vPvB.
