Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Analogs of DTDP do not produce acute or chronic toxicity to earthworms or plants at high concentrations in soil. Since DTDP does not pose an acute or chronic hazard to the terrestrial compartment, it is not possible to derive NOECs or PNECs needed for quantitative risk assessment. However, it is possible to qualitatively conclude based on available effects test data that DTDP is not harmful to terrestrial organisms.

I5 Summary

The data used to characterize the terrestrial toxicity of DTDP are for DIDP (CAS #68515-49-1), which is an analog to DTDP. Results of studies with DIDP suggest that DTDP will not cause toxicity to terrestrial organisms and plants at high soil loading levels. Therefore, because of the structural similarity between these substances and the similar biological behavior of high molecular weight phthalate esters in general, data for the analog can be used to characterize the biological effects of DTDP for this endpoint. The terrestrial organisms toxicity dataset includes results for an earthworm, Eisenia fetida, and the plant toxicity dataset includes results for two species, Lolium species and Lactuca sativa.
