Description of key information

The density range of isoheptane is 0.690 to 0.695 g/cm3.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The measurement of density or relative density of petroleum distillates by digital density meter is covered by method ISO 12185 or DIN 51757. A range of 0.690 to 0.695 g/cm3 covers all possible grades within this substance description if measured with ISO 12185 method. Similar results are obtained by the other methods. A test conducted by DHC (2010) with a measured value of 0.692 g/cm3 confirms this.
