Description of key information

Values of two main peaks:

log Pow 1= 4.8 at 25°C
log Pow 2= ≥ 5.7 at 25°C

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The determination was carried out by HPLC method. The test item elutes with two main peaks.

Triphenylamine exhibits the second highest log Pow value listed in the EU test procedure (5.7). DDT exhibits the highest log Pow value (6.2), but was not used due to toxicological reasons.

The first peak (4.8) is assumed to be not reacted starting material (Nonylphenol) and the second peak (>=5.7) is assumed to be the reaction product. Identification of the peaks was missed, because the result of the characterization was not available when phys-chem tests were commissioned.
