Administrative data
First-aid measures
Inhalation:
Remove the affected person away from the contaminated area. Flush the respiratory tracts (nose), and seek medical attention.
Skin contact:
Flush with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes.
Eyes contact:
Flush immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes by keeping the eyelids well-open.
Ingestion:
Rinse the mouth with plenty of water. The possible effects are not known. The affected person must be visited by a physician who must be informed of the characteristics of the substance.
Replace contaminated clothes, and wash clothing before reuse.
Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed:
Not known.
Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed:
In case of ingestion contact a physician
Fire-fighting measures
Extinguishing media.
Suitable: foam, carbon dioxide, water.
Unsuitable: not know.
Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture:
During combustion, the substance can release toxic fumes: carbon oxides, ammonia, ketones and cyanidric acid
Advice for firefighters.
Wear suitable protective equipment: rubber boots, gloves, integral gas mask with ABEK filter
Accidental release measures
Eliminate all sources of ignition (heat, spark, flame, collision or electricity).
Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures.
For non-emergency personnel: evacuate unnecessary personnel.
For emergency responders: wear the appropriate protective clothing rubber gloves and boots, face shield.
Environmental precautions:
Prevent the product from spreading into the environment or in underground sewers with sand or other aggregates.
Methods and material for containment and cleaning up:
Wash contaminated area with large amounts of water. Recover the washing water for subsequent disposal. Remove the contaminated soil.
Solid material, polluted water and/or contaminated soil must be sent to an authorized disposal site.
Handling and storage
Do not drink, eat or smoke in the workplace. Avoid dust formation. Protect against moisture.
Do not breath the vapours. Avoid contact with eyes, skin or clothing. Wash thoroughly after handling.
Change clothes contaminated by the product, and wash before the reuse.
Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities:
The solution of salt 510 must be stored in tanks under nitrogen atmosphere at a controlled temperature that must be kept at 70°C.
Incompatible substances: Strong oxidizers.
Compatible material: Stainless steel and aluminium are fit for the quality of the stored product; carbon steel, copper and its alloys are not appropriate for the quality of the aqueous solution.

Exposure controls / personal protection
Individual protection measures, such as personal protective equipment:
Respiratory protection: not specified.
Hand protection: waterproof gloves.
Eye protection: sealed goggles, face shield.
Skin and body protection: protective clothes.
Safety showers, eye bath must be foreseen.
Environmental exposure controls:
Prevent the product from spreading into the environment or in underground sewers with sand or other aggregates.
Stability and reactivity
The presence of oxygen may oxides the product.
High temperature and the presence of oxygen favours the oxidation process by changing its quality.
In case of water elimination at temperatures beyond 80°C, the formation of oligomers starts.
During product polymerization, small quantities of hexamethylenediamine, ammonia and cyclopentane are produced together with the water of reaction.
Chemical stability:
The product is stable if properly stored (under nitrogen)
Possibility of hazardous reactions:
During product polymerization, small quantities of hexamethylenediamine, ammonia and cyclopentane are produced together with the water of react
on
Conditions to avoid:
Avoid high temperature in storage, the solution of salt 510 must be stored in tanks under nitrogen atmosphere at a controlled temperature that must be kept at 70°C.
Incompatible materials:
Avoid contact with strong oxidizer.
Hazardous decomposition products: carbon oxides, ammonia, ketones and cyanidric acid
Disposal considerations
Discharging waste in rivers and drains is forbidden.
The disposal of product residues, including the polluted cleaning water, can be executed by sending them to the incinerator or to a biological purification plant.
Local law limits and prescriptions apply for what concerns product disposal.
