Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Since the test on the toxicity to aquatic plants is still running, the PNEC values calculation will be confirmed and, eventually, updated as soon as all the the experiments will be finished.

Conclusion on classification

Adequate chronic toxicity data are not available; Fluorescent Brightener 219 is not readily biodegradable; details about water solubility and partition coefficient currently are not available because the related experiments are still running.

On the basis of the available studies, no L(E)C50 value was recorded at concentration equal/lower than 1 mg/l, thus the classification criteria for acute (short-term) aquatic hazard (category 1) of the CLP Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 are not met.

In addition, no acute toxicity (i.e. L(E)C50) was recorded in none of the experiments conducted, up to the higher concentration reached in the tests; thus the classification criteria for long-term aquatic hazard (categories 1/2/3/4) of the CLP Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 are not met.

Since the test on the toxicity to aquatic plants is still running, the classification evaluation will be confirmed and, eventually, updated as soon as all the the experiments will be finished.
