Administrative data
First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove person to fresh air. Get medical attention.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Flush thoroughly with water. Get medical attention.
Emergency measure - Skin: Remove contaminated clothing. Wash with soap and water. Get medical attention if irritation persists.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Give some glasses of water if the person is conscious, induce vomiting immediately. Don't give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Get medical attention.
Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agent: Water. Sprinkler/deluge system recommended.
Product arising from burning: Carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, water and nitrogen.
Tests have been performed by open burning of guanylureadinitramide. The results of these tests showed that guanylureadinitramide is burning slowly and releases small amounts of heat.
Product determined by test: Yes. Protective equipment: Full protection equipment with self contained breathing apparatus.
Accidental release measures
Emergency measures in case of spillage: Guanylureadinitramide should be collected by sweeping and put in marked containers. The spillage should be handled and disposed of as explosive waste. Rinse with a lot of water.
Handling and storage
Handling: Should be handled carefully considering the explosive properties. Working area should have good ventilation. Avoid skin contact when the product is handled. PPE shall be worn in case of exposure. Prevent sparks caused by static electricity at workplace area. Smoking, fire or welding is not allowed in workrooms. Use only approved equipment shall be used.
Storage: Should be kept in dark and tight closed containers. Storage only at places approved for explosives.
Packaging of the substance and or preparation: GUDN is packed in dark and tight, closed containers; Packing group II.

Stability and reactivity
Danger other than fire: Avoid contact with copper and brass.
Chemical reaction with water: Guanylureadinitramide is partly soluble in water; no reaction with water to be expected.
Dust explosion: Avoid generation of dust.
Dust explosion determined by test: No
Disposal considerations
Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery of the substance is impossible.
Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable.
Industry - Possibility of destruction:controlled discharge: Not recommended. The supplier prescribes that all airbags have to be blown off before the car is scrapped. This method of destruction is absolutely safe and generates only small amounts of emission to the environment.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Code 661: incineration with flue gas scrrubbing.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Code 641: removal by controlled discharge to a waste water treatment plant.
Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not applicable
Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable
Public at large - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not applicable
Public at large - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Not applicable
Public at large - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not applicable
