Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets
Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Inhalation: Symptomatic treatment.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse with plenty of water and consult a doctor.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash affected area with plenty of water.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.
Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agent: Use normal extinguishing agents (water mist, foam, carbon
dioxide, dry powder). Products of decomposition may include
oxides of nitrogen.
Accidental release measures
Emergency measures in case of spillage: During manufacture of the microcapsules: In powder form:
collect the powder, put it in a controlled waste disposal
unit or incinerate it in an authorised installation. In
solution form: soak up on absorbant material and incinerate
in an authorised installation. When using the paper: Not
applicable
Handling and storage
Handling: During manufacture of the microcapsules: Minimise exposure
by use of standard occupational hygiene and good
housekeeping procedures. Weigh out in an enclosed area.
Prevent dust formation. If it is produced, take adequate
steps to see that it is not inhaled. Wear eye/face
protection, head covering and gloves. When using paper: No
special precautions.
Storage: No special precautions. Storage area should be kept dry.

Disposal considerations
Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: There is practically no loss during encapsulation. When
encapsulated and embedded in paper, the substance cannot be
recovered.
Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable.
Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: as for accidental spillage (See Section 2.4)
Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: No problems envisaged. Water purification systems:Should
not be found in significant quantities in effluents.
Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will only enter the public domain in the form
of microencapsules in paper which may be disposed of as
normal domestic household waste.
