Freezing point of (2-methoxyphenyl)methanol was determine in the range in between 18 to 21 degree celcius.
Boiling Point:
Boiling point of chemical (2-methoxyphenyl) methanol is determine to be 249 Deg C.
Density:
Density of chemical (2-methoxyphenyl) methanol is determine to be 1.0386 g/cm3 at temperature 25 Deg C.
Particle size distribution:
The study does not need to be conducted because the substance is marketed or used in a non solid or granular form .Chemical (2-methoxyphenyl)methanol is physically appear as a colorless liquid.
Vapour pressure:
Vapour pressure of chemical (2-methoxyphenyl) methanol is estimated to be 0.5719 Pa at temperature 25 C.
Partition coefficient
Based on the available data from handbook, authoritative and modelling databases, the partition coefficient (log Pow) value of the substance(2-methoxyphenyl)methanolwas determined to be 1.13. Based on the experimental value, chemical(2-methoxyphenyl)methanolcan be considered to be hydrophilic in nature.
Water solubility:
Water solubility of (2-methoxyphenyl) methanol is estimated to be 29890 mg/L at 25 Deg C.
Surface tension:
Based on the data from ACD labs, surface tension for chemical (2-methoxyphenyl)methanol was predicted to be 0.0387 N/m.
Flash point:
Flash point of (2-methoxyphenyl) methanol is determine to be greater than 112.78 Deg C.
Auto flammability:
(2-methoxyphenyl)methanol did not catch fire on being exposed to air at room temperature of 27°C pressure of 966 hPa. This indicates that (2-methoxyphenyl)methanol is not auto-flammable.
Flammability:
(2-methoxyphenyl)methanol does not indicate any ignition when the flame of bunsen burner having temperature of approximately 950°C is brought in contact with it. Thus it can be concluded that (2-methoxyphenyl)methanol is not flammable at high temperature. However since such high temperatures are not found under normal circumstances of transportation and use, thus (2-methoxyphenyl)methanol was considered non-flammable for chemical safety assessment.
Explosiveness:
The study does not need to be conducted because there are no chemical groups present in the molecule which are associated with explosive properties.
Oxidizing properties:
The study does not need to be conducted because the organic substance contains oxygen or halogen atoms which are chemically bonded only to carbon or hydrogen and hence, the classification procedure does not need to be applied.
Additional information

Particle size distribution:
The study does not need to be conducted because the substance is marketed or used in a non solid or granular form .Chemical (2-methoxyphenyl)methanol is physically appear as a colorless liquid.
Vapour pressure:
Vapour pressure of chemical (2-methoxyphenyl) methanol is estimated to be 0.5719 Pa at temperature 25 C.
From other reliable sources & authorative databases it is concluded that vapour pressure of chemical (2 -methoxyphenyl) methanol is 0.6319 Pa at temperature 25 C & 0.416 Pa at temperature 25 C.
Partition coefficient
Based on the available data in a key studyfrom handbook, authoritative and modelling databases, the partition coefficient (log Pow) value of the substance (2-methoxyphenyl)methanol was determined to be 1.13.
In a supportingstudy from peer reviewed journal, the partition coefficient (log Pow) value of the substance (2 -methoxyphenyl)methanol was estimated to be 1.16.
In an another supportingstudy from secondary source, the partition coefficient (log Pow) value of the substance (2 -methoxyphenyl)methanol was determined to be 1.13.
Additional studyfrom predicted database indicates that the octanol waterpartition coefficient (log Pow) value of the substance (2 -methoxyphenyl)methanol was estimated to be 1.144 at 25°C.
Thus, based on the available information, the logPow valueof the test substance (2 -methoxyphenyl)methanol ranges from 1.13 to 1.16, respectively. On the basis of this value, chemical (2 -methoxyphenyl)methanol be considered to be hydrophilic in nature.
