Description of key information

The substance was tested according to OECD Guideline 202, Acute Immobilization Test (April 2004). Under static conditions, no adverse effects (immobility) were observed after 48 hours of exposure at the highest tested dose of 96 mg a.i./L (corresponding to 100 mg/L of test item). The 48 hour EC50 value was > 96 mg a.i./L and the NOEC was 96 mg a.i./L.

Additional information

The substance was tested according to OECD Guideline 202, Acute Immobilization Test (April 2004) in accordance with GLP. The cladoceran, Daphnia magna, was exposed for 48 hours under static conditions to five mean measured concentrations of 2-isobutyl-2-methyl-1,3-dioloxane-4-methanol ranging from 6.3 to 96 mg a.i./L (corresponding to 100 mg/L of test item). No adverse effects (immobility) were observed after 48 hours of exposure at the highest tested dose. Thus the 48 hour-EC50 value was > 96 mg a.i./L, the 48 hour no-immobility concentration and the NOEC were both 96 mg a.i./L.

Based on the results of this study, the test item is considered as not harmful to invertebrates in accordance with the Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 (CLP).
