Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Symptomatic treatment.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Irrigate promptly with clean water.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with water.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Symptomatic treatment.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Use water mist, carbon dioxide or foam extinguishers.

Product arising from burning: Will probably yield sulfur and nitrogen oxides and possibly

hydrogen chloride, carbon monoxide and soot.

Product determined by test: N

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Damp down and sweep up with shovel into containers and

dispose of on an approved site. Wash down area with water.

Handling and storage

Handling: Normal standards of good housekeeping to avoid ingestion,

skin and eye contact and in particular inhalation of dust.

Respirators should be used if dust is generated.

Storage: No  special precautions are required.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Not given, 6th amendment notification.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: None reported.

Chemical reaction with water: None reported.

Dust explosion: This substance, although treated to minimise dust formation,

could form flammable dust clouds. Care should be taken to

minimise dust formation.

Dust explosion determined by test: N

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery of the substance from minor spillages, discharges

to effluent or from dyed fabrics is not economically

possible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: This is not a method of destruction but provided dilution to

a concentration of 100 mg/litre or less occurs no harmful

effect on aquatic life is likely.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: The substance may be rendered harmless by burning under

carefully controlled conditions.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: The substance is unlikely to be appreciably degraded in

aerobic biological processes. The substance is unlikely to

have any adverse effect on either aerobic or anaerobic

processes at sewage works. It is likely that the substance

will pass largely unchanged through a water purification

station.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: The substance may be disposed of by burying it in an

approved tip (ie one which is regulated by the appropiate

authorities and designed to contain any leachate).

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery from articles is not possible.

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable

Public at large - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Articles dyed with the substance may be disposed of as

domestic waste.
