Emergency measure - Eyes: Wash with running water for several minutes.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with soap and water
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Recommended extinguishing agents: None, the substance is an
inorganic salt.

Product arising from burning: Products arising from pyrolysis: Above 570 deg C, the
substance decomposes to stannous oxide and zinc stannite.

Protective equipment: Protective equipment: None recommended.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Remove, preferably using a vacuum cleaner, or cover spill
with an inert material and sweep up. Transfer to a sealed
waste container for disposal at an approved site.

Handling and storage

Handling: Localised dust extraction equipment should be employed,
when the material is emptied from its container. The
equipment should be capable of removing all particulate
dust from the area without using excessive air movement. If
exposure cannot be avoided then a dust mask (BS 6016 type
2) or a fresh air breathing mask is recommended.

Storage: No special precautions other than maintaining a dry

hydroxy analogue in aqueous solution.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery from polymers is not possible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable, no known hazardous effects.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Disposal at an approved land-fill site is possible

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: The substance is an inorganic salt and incineration is not
a suitable method of disposal.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended. However, as the substance is virtually
insoluble in water it can be removed by filtration. The
total or individual tin and zinc concentrations must not
exceed 3 mg/l.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance itself will not enter the public domain.
Articles containing the substance can be disposed of as
domestic waste
