Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Not considered to be a direct inhalation hazard, but if

signs of discomfort when handling in enclosed areas, move to

area of fresh air.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse immediately with large volumes of water.  Seek

immediate medical attention if signs of discomfort.  Show

copy of safety data sheet or label to the medical staff.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with water and mild soap or detergent.  If signs of

discomfort, seek medical attention.  Remove contaminated

clothing and wash thoroughly before re-use.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical advice.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Dry foam, powder, water spray, carbon dioxide and other

extinguishing agents.  No adverse reaction with normal

extinguishing agents is known.

Product arising from burning: Complete combustion will lead to the formation of oxides of

carbon and sulphur. Reduced forms of these oxides (eg.

carbon monoxide) may result from combustion in enclosed

spaces.  Other possible combustion products following

incomplete oxidation may include sulphurous acids.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Breathing apparatus, suitable gloves, goggles and face

protection must be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Absorb onto rags, sawdust or other appropriate absorbent

material.  Dispose of waste in accordance with local

regulations.  Residues and minor spills may be washed with

water and detergent.  Avoid direct run-off into water

courses and drains.

Protective clothing including suitable gloves and eye

protection should be worn.

Handling and storage

Handling: Personal protective equipment such as rubber gloves,

eye/face protection and coveralls should be worn when

handling the substance.

Storage: Store dry under ambient conditions in original container.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Intended packaging of concentrated preparation for import is

in 1 kg - 200 kg high density polypropylene drums.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: It is not possible to recover or recycle used substance.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: There is no known method to render the substance less

harmful.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: There is no indication of direct hazard to the environment

from the limited data available.  however, controlled

discharge is not recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Waste from use will be sent for incineration.  This is the

recommended method of disposal for concentrated waste.

Stack gases should be scrubbed because hazardous

decomposition will produce oxides of sulphur.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Following incidnetal release of washings, the substance

should not adversely effect the operation of the WWTP.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: No other recommended methods of destruction.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will not enter the public domain.
