First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Symptomatic treatment. Seek medical attention immediately or

if irritation occurs.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Flush eyes continuously for at least fifteen minutes. Seek

medical attention immediately.

Emergency measure - Skin: Flush exposed area with large amounts of water. Remove

contaminated clothing. If irritation occurs seek medical

attention.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention immediately.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Carbon dioxide, dry powder or foam may be used.

Unsuitable extinguishing agents: Water jet.

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon.

Protective equipment: Full protective clothing and a self-contained breathing

apparatus must be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear suitable protective clothing (see 2.3.1.).

Absorb spillages of solutions with a suitable inert material

(eg vermiculite, sand or soil). Carefully transfer the

spillage to labelled waste containers, or use a sealed

industrial vacuum machine. Dispose of waste material by in

accordance with local regulations.

Clean the spillage area with water and detergent.

Handling and storage

Handling: The substance should be stored, handled and used in

conditions of good industrial hygiene and in conformity with

any local regulations in order to avoid exposure by

inhalation, skin and eye contact.

Engineering controls are necessary to reduce exposure to the

substance, eg. local exhaust ventilation.

When exposure cannot be prevented or adequately controlled

appropriate personal protective equipment should be worn,

eg. overalls, air-fed hood and gloves. Such protective

equipment should conform to the appropriate international or

national standards.

Storage: Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area.

Keep containers tightly closed when not in use.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Polyethylene-lined metal drums of 200 litre capacity.
