First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Inhalation: Not considered to be a direct inhalation hazard, but if
vapour is inhaled, move to area of fresh air and give
artificial respiration if breathing has stopped. If there
are signs of discomfort, seek medical advice. Show copy of
safety data sheet or label to medical staff.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse immediately with large volumes of water for 10 - 15
minutes. Seek medical attention. Show copy of safety data
sheet or label to the medical staff.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with water and mild soap or detergent. If signs of
discomfort, seek medical attention. Remove contaminated
clothing and wash thoroughly before re-use.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Drink plenty of water. If signs of discomfort, seek medical
advice. Show copy of safety data sheet or label to medical
staff.
Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agent: Dry foam, powder, water spray, carbon dioxide and other
extinguishing agents. No adverse reaction with normal
extinguishing agents is known.
Product arising from burning: Complete combustion will lead to the formation of oxides of
carbon, phosphorus derivatives and water. Reduced forms of
these oxides (eg. carbon monoxide) may result from
combustion in enclosed spaces. Other possible combustion
products following incomplete oxidation may include
phosphorus acids and other volatile carbon/phosphorus
products.

Protective equipment: Breathing apparatus, suitable gloves, goggles and face
protection.
Accidental release measures
Emergency measures in case of spillage: The substance may exist as a solid or liquid under normal
environmental conditions (melting point approximately 15°C).
Absorb liquid material onto sand, sawdust or other
absorbent materials or collect solid material and place in
suitably labelled containers. Dispose of in accordance with
local regulations. Residues and minor spills may be washed
with water to process sewer, if permitted under local or
national regulations.
Protective clothing including suitable gloves and eye
protection should be worn.
Handling and storage
Handling: As the substance is a liquid, personal protective equipment
such as rubber gloves, eye/face protection and coveralls
should be worn when handling the substance to minimise
contact. In an enclosed area (confined
space),self-contained breathing apparatus should also be
worn as necessary.
Although the substance has a measurable vapour pressure
there is not considered to be significant risk of
inhalation. However, suitable ventilation should be applied
to the working area.
Storage: Store dry under ambient conditions in polyethylene-lined
steel drums. Ensure containers are properly labelled.
Packaging of the substance and or preparation: SQ 28,303 is packed in UN approved polyethylene lined steel
drums, containing 237 kg maximum.

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance is consumed during use and there is no
opportunity for recovery or recycling.
Waste solvent from production is sent for recycling.
Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: If in aqueous solution, raising the pH will reduce the
irritation effects to eyes.
Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Trace quantites are destroyed by biological oxidation in
wastewater treatment plants.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: This is the recommended method of destruction, especially
for large quantites. Closed system incinerators with
scrubbers should be used in compliance with local and
national regulations.
