Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Symptomatic treatment

Emergency measure - Eyes: Irrigate promptly with clean water.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with water.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Symptomatic treatment.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Use water mist, carbon dioxide or foam extinguishers.

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon,

nitrogen and sulfur and hydrogen chloride gas.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Self contained breathing apparatus should be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Absorb spillage onto sand or other suitable absorbants.

Sweep up and transfer to waste containers for disposal on an

approved tip. Wash down the spill site with water.

Handling and storage

Handling: Normal standards of good housekeeping to avoid ingestion,

skin and eye contact, and inhalation of dust. Respirators

should be used if dust is generated.

Storage: No special precautions are required.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: In common with many organic chemicals, including the

majority of dyes, in powder form this substance may produce

flammable dust clouds in air. Every care should be taken to

avoid dust formation.

Chemical reaction with water: No reaction with water.

Dust explosion determined by test: N

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery of the substance from minor spillages, discharges

to effluent or from dyed fabrics is not economically

possible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Disposal by this method is possible if the substance is

diluted to a concentration of 100 mg/litre or lower.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: The substance may be rendered harmless by incineration using

an industrial incinerator specifically designed for chemical

incineration. A temperature in excess of 950 deg C is

recommended as well as a gas scrubber on the exhaust.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: It is unlikely that the substance will be appreciably

degraded in aerobic biological processes of short duration.

The substance is unlikely to have any adverse effect on

either aerobic or anaerobic processes at sewage works. The

substance is unlikely to be removed to a significant extent

by sorption onto sewage sludge.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: Disposal by burying on an approved tip is possible.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance itself will not enter the public domain.
