Emergency measure - Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting. Obtain medical attention. In all

cases, remove contaminated clothing.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Extinguishing media : water, chemical foam, carbon dioxide.

May emit oxides of nitrogen and cyanide fumes on

combustion. SCBA respiratory protection required for

fire-fighting personnel.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Material is phytotoxic. Avoid contamination of water

supplies or outfall. Control and clean up as for any

non-reactive organic solid. If spill area is on ground near

trees or other valuable plants, remove top two inches of

soil and send to incineration.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Uncontaminated material may be reworked to meet product

specifications. Contaminated product must be destroyed (see

6.1.3).

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: L5300 Technical may be neutralised by treatment with

caustic soda or commercial bleaching agent (sodium

hypochlorite solution) followed by conventional biological

treatment.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: No.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Dry product should be converted to an aqueous slurry before

incineration. Incineration should be carried out at 950 deg

C.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: In conjunction with preliminary neutralisation this is an

effective means of destruction.
