Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data
First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove to fresh air and seek medical attention.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with water.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.
Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agent: Water spray, dry chemical and carbon dioxide are suitable.
Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon and
nitrogen together with some soot.
Product determined by test: N
Protective equipment: A self-contained breathing apparatus and protective clothing
are recommended.
Accidental release measures
Emergency measures in case of spillage: Avoid dust formation, wear suitable protective equipment
(cf. 2.3.1). Sweep up material for disposal by incineration.
For the slurry usually handled, absorb spill with
vermiculite or other inert material before collecting for
disposal.
Handling and storage
Handling: Follow good industrial hygiene procedures; if exposure
cannot be avoided, wear suitable gloves and eye/face
protection. Avoid exposing the substance to temperatures
greater than 195 deg C. Avoid dust formation.
Storage: Store under appropriate conditions, away from strong
oxidants.
Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Sealed 15 kg polyethlene parts or 180 kg polyethlene drums.

Exposure controls / personal protection
Stability and reactivity
Danger other than fire: The substance, in sufficient quantity and reduced particle
size, is capable of creating a dust explosion. The substance
may interact with strong oxidisers.
Chemical reaction with water: None reported.
Dust explosion determined by test: N
Disposal considerations
Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for recycling from either spills or articles is not
practical.
Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: None known except dilution with water and mixing with inert
substance.
Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Incineration at 1000 deg C at an authorised facility fitted
with flue gas scrubbing to remove nitrogen oxides is
recommended.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended.
Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will only enter the public domain in the form
of articles which may be disposed of with normal domestic
waste.
