Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient to fresh air, symptomatic treatment.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with water.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Drink 1-2 glasses of water and seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water spray, dry powder or carbon dioxide may be used.

Use water spray to keep fire exposed containers cool.

Product arising from burning: Combustion products may contain carbon and nitrogen oxides

together with some metal oxides.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Wear a self-contained breathing apparatus and protective

clothing.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Sweep up substance and place in suitable containers for

disposal by incineration. Use a licensed chemical disposal

agency.

Handling and storage

Handling: Safety glasses or eye protection should be worn. For

operations where prolonged or repeated skin contact is

necessary, gloves should be worn.

Use process enclosures, local exhaust ventilation or other

engineering controls to reduce dust concentrations to

acceptable levels. If engineering controls are inadequate,

use suitable respiratory protection.

Storage: Keep from contact with strong oxidising materials. Store in

a cool place.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: The substance, in sufficient quantities, is capable of

creating a dust explosion.

Chemical reaction with water: None reported.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for reuse is not possible. However, exhausted

solutions may be replenished and reused by following a

chemical treatment procedure provided to customers.

(C612)

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: No method of chemical treatment is known. If the metal

chelate is separated into its separated components, the

organic ligand which is classified as irritant will be

released.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Recommended method. A temperature of 1000 deg C is expected

to be sufficient to destroy the substance. Waste gas

treatment to remove nitrogen oxides should be used. (A661)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended. However, the substance will biodegrade and

not persist in the environment.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for reuse is not possible. However, exhausted

solutions may be replenished and reused by following a

chemical treatment procedure provided by customers. (C612)

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable, preparations only marketed.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not applicable in view of use pattern.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Not applicable in view of use pattern.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Preparations containing the substance will probably be

discharged to waste water treatment systems. (B640)
