First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: If inhaled, remove to fresh air; if still having difficulty

breathing, seek medical attention.

Emergency measure - Eyes: In case of eye contact, immediately flush eyes with plenty

of water for at least 15 minutes.

Remove contact lenses if worn.

Seek medical attention immediately.

Emergency measure - Skin: In case of skin contact, flush affected area with plenty of

water. Seek medical attention.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: If swallowed, seek medical attention immediately.

Induce vomiting immediately.

Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: water

Product arising from burning: Combustion may produce oxides of nitrogen, COx and hydrogen

cyanide.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Before picking up spill, wear minimum personal protective

equipment (gloves, goggles, dust mask). For large spills a

higher level of personal protective equipment may be needed.

Sweep and shovel spill into an empty plastic-lined

container.

Secure cover on waste container and identify for chemical

waste disposal via appropriate corporate procedure.

Do not mix picked-up spills of different chemicals together.

Flush contaminated area with water ONLY AFTER spill has been

picked-up; use sufficient water.

Handling and storage

Handling: Avoid contact with eyes, skin or clothing and avoid

breathing dust.

Workers will wear protective clothing such as overalls,

apron, gloves (butyl rubber or polyvinyl alcohol) and boots

during charging and discharging operations.

Local exhaust ventilation will be used when charging the

chemicals and also during packaging operations. A high

efficiency particle filter respirator with a half mask or

full face respirators will be used when there is a potential

for airborne chemicals. In case no full facepiece is used,

goggles are to be used.

Wash thoroughly after handling.

Chemical workers goggles will be worn when full face

respirators are not necessary.

Wash hands after handling.

Storage: Do not store near acids.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: The NT-16 will be packaged in a fiber drum (height 32 cm,

diameter 30 cm). Each fiber drum will contain 5 kg of NT-16.
