Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
effects occur.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Irrigate eyes thoroughly whilst lifting eyelids. Seek
medical attention if irritation persists.
Emergency measure - Skin: Remove contaminated clothing. Then wash with soap and water.
Seek medical attention if irritation persists.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Rinse mouth with water (do not swallow). Seek medical
attention if ill effects occur.
Fire-fighting measures
extinguishing agents.
Product arising from burning: Carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide. hydrogen chloride and
chlorine.
Product determined by test: N
Protective equipment: Fire fighters should wear full personal protective equipment
including breathing apparatus.
Accidental release measures
containers for disposal. The spilled material should be
incinerated in an authorised facility.
The affected area should be washed with water, taking care
not to let contaminated water enter the public watercourse.
Handling and storage
alternatively under local exhaust ventilation.
Workers must wear appropriate personal protective equipment
including a facemask equipped with a P2 filter, rubber or
neoprene gloves, disposable chemical protection suits. All
contaminated clothing should be disposed of.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry well ventilated place. Keep containers
tightly closed and keep away from sources of ignition.
Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Metallic drums (60 litres) containing two antistatic
polyethylene liners.

Stability and reactivity
Chemical reaction with water: None.
Dust explosion determined by test: N
Disposal considerations
reprocessed by crystallisation, according to a validated
method. Any spilled material are collected in suitable
containers and sent for disposal at a suitable incineration
facility.
Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Not anticipated.
Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Incineration is the preferred method of destruction. The
substance can be sent to an authorised incineration facility
equipped with an after burner and scrubber.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Small quantities can be sent to a waste water treatment
plant.
Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not applicable, the substance will not enter the public
domain.
