Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient to fresh air. Symptomatic treatment.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse immediately with eyewash or clean water, for at least

15 minutes. Continue irrigation until medical attention can

be obtained.

Emergency measure - Skin: Remove contaminated clothing. Wash skin with water. If

symptoms (irritation or blistering) occur obtain medical

attention. Contaminated clothing should be laundered before

re-issue.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water spray, foam, dry powder or carbon dioxide may be used.

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon and

nitrogen together with metal oxide smoke and some soot.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: A self-contained breathing apparatus and suitable protective

clothing must be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear suitable protective clothing (see 2.3.1.).

Sweep up spill and transfer to suitable labelled containers.

Dispose of at a landfill site or by incineration in

accordance with local regulations. Wash the spill site.

Handling and storage

Handling: Observe the usual precautions for handling organic

chemicals.

Avoid inhalation of high concentrations of dust by the use

of suitable respiratory equipment (EN 149).

Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Safety goggles and gloves

should be worn. Take precautionery measures against static

discharges.

Storage: Store in tightly closed containers.

Take precautionery measures against static discharges.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: For powder: 25 kg full opening mild steel drum with liner.

For preparation: 200 litre plastic liquor drum or 20 litre

polythene bottle in fibreboard box.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for recycling is not economically possible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Chemical treatment is not considered appropriate.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Disposal at an approved landfill site is possible. (A650)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: This is the recommended method of destruction. A temperature

above 950 deg C should be used. Waste gas treatment to

remove oxides of nitrogen and metal oxide smoke should be

fitted. (A661)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: It is unlikely that the substance will be appreciably

degraded in aerobic processes of short duration.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will only enter the public domain in the form

of an article which can be disposed of as domestic waste.
