Description of key information

The boiling point of the test material was determined to be above 400 degree C

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Boiling point at 101 325 Pa:
400 °C

Additional information

The determination of the boiling point / boiling range of the test item was performed according to the EEC Directive 92/69, A.2 "Boiling temperature", December 1992 and to the OECD Guideline No. 103: "Boiling Point", adopted July 27, 1995.

To confirm the result of the preliminary test, a further DSC run was performed. A test item amount of 8.5 mg was heated up from 25 °C to 400 °C at a rate of 10 °C/min. The same broad endothermic reaction could be observed, followed by an exothermic reaction. After the experiment, the sample had lost about 18 % of its mass and the sample was unchanged in appearance. In conclusion, FAT 40825/A does not boil under the conditions of the test. The boiling point of the test material was determined to be above 400 degree C
