Conclusion on classification

Based on the current data set, Ditetrahydrofurylpropane does not need to be classified for the environment according to the CLP Regulation (EC) 1272/2008. In the acute ecotoxicity tests on fish, daphnids and algae, LC50/EC50 values were found above 100 mg/L. As the substance is soluble in water (7.31 g/L) and has a log Pow of 2.7, long-term effects are not to be expected. The substance is not readily biodegradable though. Furthermore, the substance is not regarded as a PBT or vPvB substance, as the substance is not toxic (not T) and not bioaccumulative (not B or vB) in view of the low log Pow.
