First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Seek immediate medical attention. Treat symptomatically.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Irrigate eyes immediately with clean water or eyewash

solution, holding the eyelids apart, for at least 10

minutes. Seek immediate medical attention.

Emergency measure - Skin: Remove any contaminated clothing. Wash the affected area

with water. If irritation develops seek medical attention.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water spray, foam, dry powder or carbon dioxide.

Product arising from burning: Carbon and sulfur oxides, with soot and hydrogen chloride.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Sweep up and shovel into waste drums or plastic bags for

disposal by incineration in accordance with local or

national legislation. Use protective equipment (see 2.3.1)

Handling and storage

Handling: Observe normal standards of good housekeeping to avoid

ingestion, inhalation, skin and eye contact. Control dust

formation by careful handling or by engineering controls (eg

local exhaust ventilation). Use eye/face protection

conforming to BS 2092 and, when required, gloves conforming

to BS 1651. If necessary, wear a respirator conforming to

BS 6016.
