Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Inhalation: Bring injured into fresh air and keep person calm under
observation. If uncomfortable: Seek hospital.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Flush eyes with copious amounts of water for up to 15
minutes. Remove contact lenses and open eyelids widely. Seek
medical attention, if irritation persists.
Emergency measure - Skin: Remove contaminated clothes. Wash skin with water and soap.
Seek medical attention in case of eczema or other skin
disorders.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Flush mouth with water. Drink one or two glasses of cold
water or milk and try to provoke vomiting, providing the
injured is conscious. By ingestion of large amounts or
symptoms of poisoning: Seek medical attention.
Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agent: Alcohol-resistant foam, carbon dioxide, dry powder or water
fog.
Product arising from burning: Very toxic vapours may be formed (CO, CO2, NOx, HCN, F).
Product determined by test: N
Protective equipment: Full breathing protection, gloves, goggles
Accidental release measures
Emergency measures in case of spillage: Avoid inhalation of vapours and contact with skin and eys.
Do not smoke or use open fire or other sources of ignition.
Use personal protection (e.g. gloves, safety goggles and
breathing apparatus). Do not discharge into drains, water
courses or onto the ground. Dam and absorb spillage with
sand, earth or other non-combustable material. For waste:
dispose-off waste according to national, state and local
regulations.
Handling and storage
Handling: Good industrial hygiene standard should be maintained.
Inhalation of vapours and contact with skin and eyes should
be avoided. Work practice should minimise contact. Do not
smoke or use open fire or other sources of ignition.
Adequate ventilation is required. In case of inadequate
ventilation and work of brief duration, suitable
respiratory equipment should be used (gas filter, type AX).
Protective
gloves and goggles/face shield should be used. Apron or
protective clothing should be used. Hands should be washed
after handling.
Storage: Store in tightly closed original container.
Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Steel drums 200 L or IBC's or tanks.
