Description of key information

J-37 is non biodegradable.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

One study, investigating the ready biodegradability of J-37 according to OECD 301C (Modified MITI Test), is available. In this study (Hodogaya, 2010) activated sludge (non adapted) was applied as inoculum and the concentration of the test substance was 100 mg/L (nominal concentration). At test termination after 28 days the substance was degraded to -3% by BOD. The biodegradation of the reference substance (aniline) by BOD was 77% after 14 days. In conclusion, the test substance is a non biodegradable compound.
