Additional information

Three screening tests for biodegradability in seawater (OECD 306) studies and a marine BODIS test have been conducted on the read-across substance (Fatty acids, C18 unsaturated, reaction products with diethylenetriamine).

The percentage test substance degraded after 28 days in the OECD 306 studies ranged from 35 to 45%. In the marine BODIS 42-82% biodegradation was observed by day 28 (depending on addition rate of test substance) and after 42 days 56-95% degradation was observed (depending on addition rate of test substance).

Simulation testing for water, sediment and soil was not considered necessary as there are no intended releases to these compartments.
