Skin sensitisation

Endpoint conclusion
Additional information:
Migrated from Short description of key information:
In accordance with Column 2 of REACH Annex VII, the in vivo skin sensitisation study (required in Section 8.3) does not need to be conducted as the available information indicates that GLS-Silane meets the criteria for classification as corrosive to skin. In addition, available data for one of the primary constituents in GLS-Silane, tetramethylsilane - CAS 75-76-3, which is present in GLS-Silane at a concentration of 10 - 30%, showed no sensitization in guinea pigs in a GLP study completed according to OECD Guideline 406.

Justification for classification or non-classification

There are no data to suggest that GLS-Silane should be classified for skin or respiratory sensitisation.
