Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The closed cup method was applied for the determination of the flash-point of Bis-Tes (dried). Since the flash-point of the test substance was in the range 21°C, the non-equilibrium mode and the equilibrium mode were used.
The flash-point of the test substance was 22°C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flash point at 101 325 Pa:
11 °C

Additional information

Based on the flashpoint result of 22°C and with a BP > 35C (285 C) the substance is classified as flammable liquid 2 (H225 highly flammable liquid and vapor). The test substance was dried from heptane with approx. 10% residual heptane detected in dried test sample. The residual heptane is likely contributing to the flammable liquid 2 classification as heptane alone is also classified as a flammable liquid 2.
