First-aid measures

Signs and symptoms of exposure: none.
General: remove from exposure, remove contaminated clothes.
If breathed in: move person into fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration.
In case of skin contact: Wash off with plenty of water.
In case of eye contact: Rinse thoroughly with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes and consult a physician.
If swallowed: Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Rinse mouth with water. Consult a physician.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media: Use standard fire fighting techniques. Use water spray, foam, dry chemical or carbon dioxide.
Specia fire fighting procedures: Evacuate personnel to safe area.
Fire fighters should use self-contained breathing equipment and protective clothing.
Risk of combustion: When heated to decompostion material emits irritating fumes. Emits acid and irritating fumes under fire conditions.
Protection: Standard fire fighting equipment.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions: Wear safety goggles, dust mask and gloves.
Environmental precautions: The product is insoluble in water and floats on the water. Isolate the pollute area.
Methods and materials for containment and cleaning up:
Sweep spilled product into containers or remove with vacuum cleaner.
Separate the product from water.

Handling and storage

Handling: The material is stable in usual conditions. When powdered, as well as all dry powders, it is advisable to ground mechanical equipment in
contact with dry material to disspate the potential building up of static electricity.
Storage: Stow away from boiler.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Safe handling: Avoid static electricity.
Respiratory: Use a suitable dust respirator (P2).
Ventilation: Local exhaust recommended.
Skin protection: Use disposable gloves of nitrile rubber; Thicknes: 0.2 mm
Breakthrough time (EN 374): -Heptane: >30 minutes, -Sodiumhydroxide 50%: >480 minutes, - Sulphuric acid 96%: >30 minutes.
Eye protection: Use safety goggles.
Other protection: Use suitable protective clothing, Avoid contamination of working area. No eating, smoking or drinking in area of the product.

Stability and reactivity

The product is stable, When heated to decomposition material emits irritating fumes.
Emits acid and irritating fumes under fire conditions.

Disposal considerations

Spilled materials: Sweep up spilled material being careful not to create dust. Place sweepings in a chemical waste container.
Flush contaminated area with water. Dispose of waste in accordance with federal, state and local laws.
Packing materials: Dispose contaminated packing materials in accordance with federal, state and local laws.
