Melting / freezing point at 101 325 Pa:
-12 °C

Additional information

Potassium and Sodium form a eutectic mixture whereby the melting point of the mixture is lower than that of the two component metals. The point of maximum depression, i.e. the minimum melting point is at a composition of 78% potassium and 22% sodium, which is the composition of the alloy being registered. Based on available data, the melting point at this minimum, which represents the composition being registered, is around -12C and therefore the substance will be a liquid under most ambient conditions.
