Description of key information

Skin irritation/corrosion: 
Under the conditions of the present study, the single dermal application of the test item to three rabbits at a dose of 0.5 mL showed irritant effects, which were not fully reversible within the observation period in two of three animals. One animal showed at the end of the observation time of 14 days erythema grade 1, one animal showed after 14 days extensive desquamation. The total mean value irritation scores (mean 24-72 hours) were 1.9 (erythema) and 0.8 (edema).
Eye irritation:
A single ocular application of the test item at a dose of 0.1 ml produced slightly irritant but no corrosive effects, which were fully reversible within 72 hours. The mean scores for the 24, 48 and 72 hours time points were Cornea = 0, Iris = 0, Conjuctival Redness= 0.67, Conjuctival Chemosis = 0.

Justification for classification or non-classification

According to the classification criteria of regulation (EC) 1272/2008 Cyclohexanol, 4-C11-12-alkyl, branched has to be classified with Skin Irrit. 2, H315, whereas a classification for eye irritation is not required, conclusive but not sufficient data being available for eye irritation.
