Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The chemical safety assessment according to Annex I indicates that it is not necessary to conduct the simulation test on ultimate degradation in surface water and the sediment simulation test, or to identify degradation products.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The following information is taken into account for any hazard / risk / persistency assessment:

The chemical safety assessment according to Annex I indicates that it is not necessary to conduct the simulation test on ultimate degradation in surface water and the sediment simulation test, or to identify degradation products.

Simulation tests (water and sediments) are not considered necessary because:

- The substance is used under highly controlled conditions and, therefore, exposure of the aquatic environment is low.

- The risk characterisation ratios (RCRs) for the aquatic compartment, based on the assumption that the hydrolysis products of MS-Silane are not biodegradable, are <1.
