Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Dissociation constant (substance): Not relevant
Dissociation constant (silanol hydrolysis product): ca. 10.8

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The requirement to test the substance for dissociation constant is waived because in contact with water the substance rapidly hydrolyses to silanols, silandiols and silantriols and hydrogen chloride. The first dissociation constant of the silanol hydrolysis product is estimated to be ca. 9.6, 11.9, ca. 11, respectively, based on read-across from the related substance phenylsilanetriol, dimethylsilandiol and trimethylsilanol. The mean value for the dissociations constants of the hydrolysis products is ca. 10.8.
