Description of key information

A study was conducted on the material UC using EU Method A8, the partition coefficient was determined to be > 6.5. Results were also obtained on the two surrogate materials (EHMC and UMC), all three substances recorded log Pow values of > 6.0.
All three substances have very high log Pow values, which means these substances could have the potential to bioaccumulate.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Log Kow (Log Pow):
6.5
at the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

We have additional data to compare the surrogate materials (EHMC and UMC) to the substance UC.

For EHMC we have both a QSAR and a result using EU Method A8, the study value was estimated to be between 6.05 and 6.32, whereas the QSAR was estimated to be 6.96.

For UMC a QSAR was also conducted using EPIWIN, this substance was also predicted to have a very high log Pow reading of 8.37.

A study was conducted on the material UC using EU Method A8, the partition coefficient was determined to be > 6.5.

All three substances have very high log Pow values, which means these substances could have the potential to bioaccumulate in the environment.
